Guild helps solo practitioners find the right co-counsel — someone who practices in the same area and jurisdiction, understands the same courts, and is a good fit for the specific case in front of you.
This guide is written for lawyers using the platform. It covers the whole loop: signing up, creating a case, finding and working with co-counsel, and handling the professional details (fee splits, referrals, bids) properly.
Getting started
- Getting Started — sign up with your email, complete your profile, and a tour of your dashboard.
- Creating a Case — the four-step wizard: triage, details, adverse parties, review.
- How Matching Works — triage → search → match proposal → conflict check, and what each status means.
- Messages & Unread — messaging your co-counsel and keeping track of what's new.
- Fee Splits — the consent requirements (MRPC 1.5(e)) and how to record a split that will stand up.
- Referrals & Bids — referring a case out or joining a group bid.
- FAQ — common questions, including confidentiality and what the platform does and doesn't do.
A note on confidentiality
Clients never enter the platform. Case postings are anonymized — no client names, no identifying details — and adverse parties are listed only as names for conflict screening. You attest to client consent where professional rules require it (fee splits, referrals), and you handle client communications on your own channels. See the FAQ for details.
